Located in Morehead, Papua New Guinea, this 500kW ESS solar power project was designed for a farm training center and dormitory hub located in a remote area without access to the national grid. Previously, the entire facility relied on a 65kVA diesel generator for daily electricity supply, resulting in extremely high fuel and operating costs. To reduce diesel consumption and provide a more stable and sustainable power solution, TANFON installed a complete energy storage solar system featuring a 500kW MPS inverter, 430kWh lithium battery storage, and 211kW solar array consisting of 352 high-efficiency 600W solar panels. With this system, the farm can now achieve 24-hour solar-powered operation during sunny weather conditions, fully meeting the daily electricity demand without the need to run the diesel generator, significantly reducing fuel expenses and operational costs. During cloudy or rainy days, the diesel generator serves as backup power support to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. Thanks to the substantial savings on diesel consumption, the customer is expected to recover the total investment cost of the solar system in approximately two years, making this project a highly efficient and cost-effective renewable energy solution for remote agricultural applications.
