Hybrid Solar Power System for a Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria

This project involves the installation of a hybrid solar energy system for a hotel in Lagos, Nigeria, designed to address the facility’s intermittent power supply challenges. While the local grid is relatively stable, occasional outages occur, requiring a reliable backup solution to ensure seamless hotel operations. To meet this need, a 100 kW hybrid system has been proposed, integrating both solar power and grid electricity as complementary energy sources. The system is built around two Deye 50 kW hybrid inverters, providing a total system capacity of 100 kW, and is supported by a battery bank with a total capacity of 153.6 kWh (comprising two 76.8 kWh units). Due to limited rooftop space, a total of 194 solar panels (each rated at 600W) will be installed, delivering a 100 kW solar array based on the available roof area. This configuration allows the hotel to maximize the use of solar energy during the day while seamlessly supplementing with grid power when needed. The batteries provide stored energy for backup during outages, ensuring uninterrupted power for critical hotel loads. Overall, this hybrid solution offers an efficient, space-optimized approach to reducing grid dependence and enhancing energy reliability for the hotel.
